Practice:

This week I specifically worked on the B section of the piece. This section has a good amount of challenge to it on my part, I basically don't get a second to breathe while I am playing through this sequencing motif and back into the main theme of the section. There is going to need to be a lot of communication between both players in the section because there is a lot of trading melody or importance. There is what seems like a lot of harmonic movement which is making it harder to not get lost and stay in focus.

Rehearsal:

JT and I had our rehearsal on Monday this week and we were able to strictly focus on the B section for this session, including the transitions between sections. We started pretty far under tempo to make sure everything was lining up between us and there wasn't anything sounding weird in the arrangement with us together. After we got through it at a slower tempo we began increasing it as we got more comfortable with the parts and the interlocking was happening in the melody. We were able to get a recording of this section regardless of minor mistakes.
